this is Alicia and I'm planning to move to Auckland in mid-February to start teaching German as a foreign language at the University of Auckland (until December 2025). I recently graduated from Uni in Germany with a major in teaching and I'm pretty excited about this next big adventure!! Currently, I'm looking for a place to stay and I would love to share a flat with young professionals and master students. I've always lived with flatmates and I've loved spending time together rather than just living next door to each other. At the moment I also live in a shared flat with three other flatmates and I really enjoy having dinner together, watching movies, dancing in the kitchen and having a place we all call home :)
A little bit about me: I'm 27 years old, recently graduated from Uni and before I start my carreer as a teacher in Germany, I wanted to go abroad and gain some teaching experience in foreign language learning. I've traveled quite a bit around Europe and lived in different places during my studies, but never as far as New Zealand; so I'm very excited about what's to come. I love being outdoors and being active! In my free time, you'll find me on the water rowing. It is such a beautiful sport and I enjoy the company of my sports mates, but I can also relax very well when I'm alone on the water. I also enjoy dancing and would like to improve my skills in contemporary dance. So I'm looking forward to hopefully finding a community for these sports in Auckland. Other than that, I like reading and catching up with friends and family over a nice cup of coffee.
(Even if you're not looking for a flatmate at the moment, I'm happy for any tips on finding a shared flat or forwarding my rental request to friends and family.)
