Kia Ora! We are looking for two new flatmates, after 1 recently moved out after living here for 3 years. One of the rooms has been vacant for a long time due to owner’s wishes. She now wants to fill all four rooms.
We are located behind Woolworths in Mt Wellington, just a 10-15 minute walk to Sylvia Park. Super handy to shops, public transport, motorway. Quite good location.
The rooms are available now and both are furnished with a king single Bed (with single trundle underneath), desk, chair, bedside drawers, and a chest of drawers is available for 1 room too. The owner is open to negotiating removal of her furniture if you’d prefer to bring your own. Whoever is first in would have choice of room and choice of furniture. One room (with the white bed frame in the pictures) is slightly longer than the other room and it’s slightly skinnier. The room with the purple computer chair is a bit wider but not as long as the other one. They are the same amount of floor space though, with good sized closets (or wardrobes if you prefer)
Currently the two flatmates are working professionals, both ladies, 1 Asian (attending City Impact Penrose) & 1 American (attending Every Nation Auckland City) who have both been in NZ for 20+ years. One mostly works away from home, the other has a changing schedule & travels for work periodically (Kinda the life of a missionary).
We prefer female flatmates, but are open to considering brother-sister pairs, or a married couple if you’ll take both rooms (which would be $460, Can explain why, if you wanna know). Any new flatmates would share the family bathroom upstairs and a half bath downstairs with one existing flatmate.
The rent listed is the same for each room and includes $200 for house rent and $30 for reasonable use of utilities: power, water, internet (unlimited fibre). The Lawn mowing will come under our responsibility when the owner (a Taiwanese & Brazilian couple living in Wellington & attend Elim church) shifts to a new property manager. This will not happen until both rooms are filled, whether by 1 person renting both rooms ($430), or two people renting one room each ($230 each), or a married couple renting both rooms ($460).
We do our own cooking because of schedules and food preferences/dietary needs. Each flatmate gets at least 1 dedicated shelf space in the kitchen, fridge and freezer (well drawer for freezer). If you are tall you will have free reign over additional shelves that we can’t reach lol.
We’re a pretty chill household. We have a few musical instruments about the place (piano, guitars, bass), movies & books, too. If you have other questions please ask. We’re available to arrange viewings before 22 Sep & after 2 Oct (due to mission trip travel). If you need to view while I’m away, please message through & I’ll ask Jess to attempt to arrange a viewing time.

The front of the house is just a driveway area, where depending on the front neighbour, how good your parking skills are, and if we’re patient enough to shuffle cars, we can park a considerable number of cars. Both tenants currently drive. With Three drivers in the house, no car shuffling is needed. If there are four cars, if the neighbour is not parked at the back of their house, no shuffling is needed; but if he is will sort it out, so everyone can park by the house & people are not blocked in when they need to head out :-)
