ABOUT THE FLAT: We are a social, down-to-earth mixed Christian flat of young professionals and students(early-to-mid 20s). Our double-story house has a spacious layout with four bedrooms upstairs, one bedroom downstairs, and a sleepout, meaning the house never feels crowded even though everyone has varied schedules. We constantly run into each other for a good yarn!
We really want to build a genuine flat home, and we absolutely love our social flat nights. We are a great mix of introverts and extroverts —whether that's getting competitive over games, winding down with a movie, watching live sports, catching up on YouTube, or having a spontaneous Nintendo Wii tournament (we're big on Wii Sports🎾). Between us, we’re super into gaming and staying active and keeping healthy. We love a late-night chat or spontaneous weekend activities, and we’d love to find someone who shares those same interests and values!
We're also a flat that appreciates good meme/vine culture, so things can get lively, but we strictly drop the noise at 10:00 pm on weeknights so everyone gets their rest. A good dose of quiet time and respecting each other's boundaries is super important to us!
THE ROOM & HOUSE FEATURES:
🏡 The House Layout: A spacious double-story home featuring four bedrooms upstairs, one room downstairs, and a sleepout.
The Room: A spacious upstairs room with sloped ceilings and dual windows that bring in excellent morning light—including a stunning view of the hills! It comes furnished with a bed (mattress and frame, size Single not shown in photos), features a great built-in wardrobe with shelving, and includes a bedroom heater (perfect for pairing with a plug-in timer so it turns off automatically if you ever rush out the door and forget about it!). Note: The desk shown in the photos is not included.
Two Bathrooms: No morning queues here! Your room sits right next to the upstairs bathroom (which has a separate shower, toilet and a full bath), plus there’s a second full bathroom downstairs with another shower and toilet.
The Kitchen: A massive, clean space with tons of storage, a shared dishwasher, and an air fryer (flatmate-owned but totally open to use as long as it's cleaned afterwards!).
Food Storage: Plenty of space for everyone—we have a main single-door fridge in the kitchen, a second fridge in the laundry, plus a vertical freezer and a chest freezer out in the garage.
Laundry Setup: A dedicated laundry area equipped with a washing machine, wall-mounted clothes dryer, and direct access out to the garage area.
Warm & Cosy: The house features full roof insulation, double-glazed windows, a powerful heat pump in the living room.
Wi-fi: Max-speed fibre broadband with an upstairs mesh system to ensure solid Wi-Fi stability throughout the house.
Garage & Storage Perks: Secure on-property parking is available, along with a garage and a dedicated bike shed for extra storage.
THE LOCATION (SPREYDON): Close walk (15 minutes) to Hillmorton Maccas, Barrington mall and under 15 minute drive to Westfield, and the CBD. Reasonably close to handy bus stops heading straight to Riccarton or the CBD.
RENT & EXPENSES:
Rent:$185 per week (fully inclusive of your room, power, unlimited max-speed fibre broadband, and basic flat essentials). Note: There is an upcoming standard rent review across the flat, so this may adjust to $195 per week soon.
Bond: 4 weeks' bond and 1 week's rent in advance. (returned following completion of the final inspection).
Move-in Date: Available fromThursday 23rd July.
OUR IDEAL FLATMATE: We’re looking for someone who is friendly, considerate, and genuinely excited to be part of a shared household! Ideally, you’re someone who naturally cleans up after themselves and loves contributing to keeping the home a great place for everyone to live. We really value having the freedom to do our own thing, but we love a household where spontaneous chats just happen naturally throughout the week. We're always down for a good laugh, but we're equally keen to hang out and chat whenever our schedules align! If you appreciate a balance of warm flat chats, a respectful environment, and a positive vibe, you'll fit right in!
